Methi Mutter malai

"Methi" or Fenugreek is a wonderful green leafy vegetable full of antioxidants, vitamins and fiber. It helps cleanse your system, improve your eyesight and increase resistance and immunity level of your body against toxins. And though it is packed with nutrients, there's only one thing which could possibly draw you away from it, and that is it's slightly-bitter taste. 
For the first time in my life, I had this Methi mutter malai dish in one of the restaurants in Pune a couple of months back.Methi mutter Malai is a punjabi recipe.It tastes amazing, not bitter at all. It is usually served with Puri/roti/paratha or hot naan. It is rich, creamy and delicious! Give it a try gals......, So here's sharing with you another healthy and tasty recipe!!




Ingredients
Fenugreek leaves  1 bunch (wash and chop methi leaves)
Green peas 1 cup
1 large Onion  chopped


1tblsp Kasturi methi leaves (crushed finely in your palms)
Ginger  paste 2tblsp
1 tsp Red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Cinnamon powder  1/2 teaspoon
½ tsp Cumin seeds
Salt to taste
Fresh cream 1/2 cup
Oil / butter
METHOD
 Heat oil / butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds & let it splutter.Add chopped onions and cook till they are translucent. Add the methi leaves and sauté for 1-2 min.
Add ginger paste and continue to sauté for a minute more till the raw smell goes away .Add red chilli powder , coriander powder and green peas. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add fresh cream to it. Stir well. Don’t over cook it after adding the cream. Add  cinnamon powder ,salt & crushed kasturi methi leaves. Mix well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes and  switch off the flame.Serve hot with Roti, paratha or naan.
