Sabudana Thalipeeth is a maharashtrian recipe. Sabudana Thalipeeth or Sago Potato Pancake is one of the easy recipe to make and it taste very good. It is popular during fasting time, Not only during fasting but you can make these for breakfast or evening snacks ...Maharashtrian Fasting food is loaded with lots of calories, in fact you can really have treat during a fast :p.... Enjoy this another delicious recipe! !!! I made this today morning for 1st time & thalipeeth's came out really nice. So thought of sharing with u all..:)
So here goes the recipe..
Ingredients:
1 cup Sabudana / sago seeds
1 potato boiled and grated
green chillies and cumin seeds paste - 1tsp
Crushed groundnut/ peanut powder - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar - pinch
Ghee or Butter
Chopped coriander leaves- a handful
Method:
Wash and soak sabudana (sago) in water for atleast 2 hrs.
Drain the excess water and keep aside.
Mix green chiilies and cumin seeds paste.
Mix soaked sabudana, grated potato , coriander leaves, salt, sugar, peanut powder together
and make a dough. Sprinkle water if required and knead it to the dough.
Make small round balls of the dough.
Take any plastic sheet, sprinkle few drops of water on plastic sheet, Flatten them using your hands on plastic sheets.
Coat some oil/ water on your palms so that it doesn't stick.
Heat pan on a medium high, add some oil and place thalipeeth ,
When you hear the crackling sound, flip it on the other side
and let it cook till it gets nice golden color from both the sides.
Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, chutney or sauce....
