Ingredients:
Green peas- 1 1/2 cup ( I have used frozen peas)
2-3 medium sized boiled potatoes
1 large size tomato –chopped
Salt to taste
2 bayleaves, 2 cardamoms, 1" long cinnamon stick
2tsp- ginger & green chilli paste
oil/ Desi ghee- 1-2 tblsp
Cumin seeds & Nigella seeds- 1tsp each
Roasted cumin seeds powder (Jeera lanka gunda)
Sugar – a pinch
Coriander-cumin powder- 1tsp
Garam masala powder- 1tsp
Dried fenugreek leaves/ kasturi methi- 1tblsp
Turmeric powder- 1tsp
Hing/ asafoetida- a pinch
Red chlli powder- 1-2 tsp as per your taste
Coriander leaves chopped for garnishing
Method:
Cut the bolied potatoes in square size pieces. Heat a pan. Add tbsp oil to it.
Add the boiled potatoes & green peas. shallow fry for 2-3 mins till they turn to light golden brown in color.
Take a kadai/pan. Heat ghee. Add bayleaves, crushed cardamoms, cinnamon stick. Then add hing then add cumin & nigella seeds & 2-3 dry red chillies. When they start crackling add dried fenugreek leaves.
Fry for some time thn add ginger & green chilli paste..stir it. then add the chopped tomatos. Mix well. In a small bowl mix turmeric powder , red chilli powder, coriander cumin powder , salt & 1tblsp of water. Add this spice mix to the masala. stir continiously till the masala is done.
Then add the fried poatos & green peas . Mix well. add a pinch of sugar to it. Adjust salt & mix well. let it boil for 3-4 min till the peas are properly cooked. Add the garam masala & roaste cumin seeds powder powder. Mix well & switch off the flame. Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves . Serve hot with dosa, roti/chapati or any type of pullav or rice.
