Chicken curry (Orissa style)

Ingredients:

500gms chicken
2-3 medium size potatoes
3 chopped onions
2 large onion (make a paste)
4-5 tsp of ginger/garlic paste
1 large tomato
1 teaspoon sugar
1  teaspoon tumeric powder
2 bay leaves
2 inches  cinnamon
2 cardamoms
mustard oil 
red chilly powder
2 tsp garam masala( cinnamon & cardamom pwd) 
salt to taste
chopped coriander
1tsp curd

Method:

Marinate the chicken with 1 tsp turmeric , salt & 1-2 tsp curd.keep aside.
Heat kadai put mustard oil into it.Then add 1/2 teaspoon sugar for nice colouring of curry.add bay leaf & whole cinnamons & cadamoms. when sugar turns golden brown add onions . when the colour of onions turns to golden brown colour add onion paste & ginger garlic  paste and go on stirring.
Add chopped tomatoes,  tumeric powder,  and red chilly powder. Mix  well .Add a little water. When the water dries out and oil begins to appear from out of the masala add chicken.  
Mix it all properly. Then stir the same continiously for about 15-20 minutes.

 (By the time Peel off and cut the potatoes into halves and semi-fry the same in a kadai with mustard oil). add the fried potatoes and a cup of water. cover the kadai  for almost 10 minutess on low - medium flame. 
add garam masala & chopped corriander leaves.switch off the flame. & serve hot with roti, puri, paratha,naaan or any kind of rice/pollaus.
