Sweet Rice (south indian style)


1 cup Basmati Riceuncooked
½ cup split yellow Moong Dal (Roasted)
¼ tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp cashew nuts
1 tsp raisins
1 ½ cup Jaggery
3-4 tsp Ghee


Mix rice and dal together, wash well and pressure cook till cooked. Then add jaggery  in the rice and mix well.In a non-stick bowl  heat desi ghee, add cashews  & Raisins along with cardamom powder and fry till the cashews  & raisins turn golden brown in color. Pour it into the rice.mix well properly. Leave the mixture on the gas for some time on a medium flame. Keep stirring now and then so that the rice will not stick to the bottom.Enjoy this Mitha bhaat at room temperature or cold.
