Yello pumpkin- 100gm (cut in to pieces)
JANHI (Ridge gourd)- 1 medium size ( peeled & cut in to pieces)
Haldi a pinch
1tsp Panch phutan
Onion- 2 medium size- sliced
Garlic cloves -5 crushed
Salt as per the tatse
Slit Red chilly- 2
Sugar ½ tsp
Milk- 1 cup
Oil
Grated coconut- 2 tblsp (optional)
Roasted moong- ¼ cup ( optional)
Method:
Take a kadai. Boil 1 cup of water in that kadai. Put the roasted moong dals to the boiling water. Let it boil for 4-5 min. When the moong dals are 90% cooked ,switch off the flame & drain all the water. Keep aside.
In the mean time Wash the drumstick leaves & drain all the water. Cut the leaves.
Heat oil in a kadai. Crackle panch phutan. Add crushed garlic, hari mirch sauté for 15 sec. & add onion slices. Sauté for 1-2 min till they turn to light brown in colour.
Add pumpkin & ridge gourd pieces. Sauté for 1-2 min. Add haldi, Mix well then add the drum stick leaves & boiled moong dal. Add milk. Mix well. Let it cook in the milk for 2-3 min till the leaves becomes soft. When the milk disappears from the saga then add grated coconuts & mix well. Turn off the flame & serve hot with rice & dal.

Thats a great recipe and reminder of good old days. I cant wait to cook it. I must find out from where to get Sajana saga. Sangeeta of ( healthfood deshi videshi)has sajana trees. I must get it from her ha ha
