Dum Allu


Baby potatoes (250 gm)
Onion-2 nos chopped
Ginger garlic paste-2-3 tsp
Tomatoes- 2nos. Chopped
Fennel seeds powder
Chilly pwd.
Curd- ½ cup
Cumin pwd / coriander pwd- 1 tsp each
Garam masala power
Whole garam masala (1 cinnamon stick, 4 green cardamoms, 2 bay leaves, 4 cloves)
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Kismis-1/2 cup (fried)


Boil the baby potatoes & peel the skin.
Fry the potatoes until golden brown
Heat  a kadai. add oil, add cumin seeds & whole garam masala.
When they starts crackle , add onion.stir it till the onions turn into golden brown colour.
Add ginger garlic paste & add turmeric, salt,cilly powder,fennel seeds pwd, cumin & coriander powder.add tomatoes.
Add little water.when water dries out &  oils begins to appear from masala add curd.mix it properly.
Then add water & bring it to boil. Then add potatoes.let it boil for some time.When the gravy becomes thick switchoff the flame.
Add garam masala, coriander leaves & kismis. Serve with hot roti aur parathas...
