Hot Hot Kanda Bhajii (Onion pakoda)


Kanda Bhaji....means Onion bhaji...Just perfect for the weather here right now..It is a famous Maharashtrian snacks recipe.. This crunchy fritters R prepared from Onion the main ingredient , gramflr & some spices..These fritters are perfect accompaniment to afternoon teas..I love when the sliced onion turns to odd shaped crab/ khekda type fritters when fried.

 Yesterday evening some of our friends came to our home &  it was raining here..& I planned to make some hot bhajji for them...so prepared this yummy crispy & spicy kanda bhaji for the evening snacks with a cup of hot hot tea...we all loveed munching on pakoras with a cup of hot tea & lot looottt of chit chats......wah wah kya baat hey....maja aagaya..:)

Here is the recipe for you all..Hope you will njoy this ....:)




Ingredients:
4-5 large onions thinly sliced
gram flour  1 ½ cups
1tblsp rice flour
1/4 tsp turmeric powder/ haldi
1 tsp red chilli powder
Garlic/ ginger crushed- 1tblsp
1-2 green chillies- chopped
1 tsp each-ajwain , cumin seeds & whole coriander seeds (dhania)
Salt to taste
curry leaves a few finely chopped
Oil for frying

Method:

Take a bowl. Put the onion slices. Add  salt  and leave it for 10-15 mins. till the onion leaves some water.
Then add gram flour  & rice flour to the the onion and mix properly .
Add haldi, green chilles, red chilli powder, crushed ginger & garlic , curry leaves, cumin seeds, ajwain, whole coriander and if required little water to the besan and make a batter that is of dropping consistency by sticky.





Heat oil in a kadhai .Take 1 tbsp of hot oil from the kadhai and add to the batter and mix well.

Then drop small bhajis in the oil and fry stirring till they turned to golden brown in colour and crisp. Serve Hot with garlic chutney or tomato ketchup.
