This one is my favourite breakfast from childhood. I make this often too as my husband  loves to eat uthapam in morning  breakfast...very easy & delicious breakfast..:)


Idli/ dosa batter- 2 cups ( I hav used idli batter)
Salt to taste
Onion chopped- 1cup
Tomato chopped- ½ cup
Capsicum chopped(optional)
Coriander leaves (i didn’t hav in my kitchen so cldn’t put)- 1-2 tblsp
Green chilli – 3-4 finely chopped
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp 
Oil/ ghee


Keep all the veg. Ready. Heat griddle. 
Grease ghee/ oil. Pour a ladle full of batter in the middle of the griddle. Spread the batter ..It should be thick.  Top the vegetables, cumin seeds, coriander leaves evenly .  Cook in medium flame. 

Add  some oil over top & side of the uthapaam. Gently Flip the uthapam to other side once the bottom turns golden brown.

 cook again for 2-3 min till turn to golden brown. Now your uthapam is ready. Serve hot with any kind of  chutney.
